Elements and Performance Criteria
- Monitor aircraft systems during normal flight
- Aircraft systems, sub-systems (equipment) and devices are monitored using a systematic scan technique
- Aircraft systems and flight environment information is analysed to identify actual and potential threats or errors
- Hazards are identified, risks assessed and risk management processes implemented
- Checklist procedures are completed as appropriate to aircraft system
- Monitor aircraft systems during abnormal and emergency procedures
- Aircraft flight path is monitored during abnormal and emergency response procedures
- Affected aircraft system or sub-system is identified and confirmed
- Appropriate abnormal or emergency procedures are identified
- Inputs into course of action is provided to achieve safest outcomes
- Aircraft emergency systems are monitored continually during abnormal and emergency situations
- Monitor flight conditions
- Aircraft altitude, attitude and heading are monitored
- Situational awareness is maintained to ensure safe flight
- Fuel usage is monitored
- Aircraft operating limits are monitored and advice provided to pilot in command (PIC)
- Operational documentation is interpreted and information provided to PIC
- Aircraft operational checks are completed
- Respond to abnormal/emergency situations
- Abnormal/emergency response is undertaken in accordance with aircraft checklists, pilot directions and organisational policy and procedures
